The Coat Hook: Concept Generation; Part 1
Once again I think I may have tried to get to complex too quickly. Here is an overview of what I was working on.
It started with the heart design, honestly the hardest part was dealing with the points where the two half of the hearts intersected. I think struggling with someone that felt like it should have been so simple was a bit discouraging.
I think to make this design work I would need to redo the spikes/hangers, so that 1) your coats are not being stabbed and 2) I don't think (?) the direct points are technically possible to print? I don't know. I can't boolean the points to the rest of the heart and I think that is why but I do not know. Also, when I designed this I was actually designing it more thinking it would be a jewelry holder. I think it may be a bit to complex to hold a good deal of coats, but I think this would work awesome to hang and display jewelry on.

The following coat hangers are quite a bit simpler in design. More traditional coat hangers.
The one pictured above could be used on it's own, or you could put multiple on a base to create another simple style coat hanger.

The following piece is based off something I seen on google. To be honest, I was running out of creative juices. It might have been better for me to come up with some of the concepts as sketches, but I do want to familiarize myself more with rhino hence why I chose to mock them up in rhino.
The last, but certainly not least, is my favourite. Definitely my favourite concept I came up with.
The cutlery coat hanger! My idea is the plate would actually be cut in half at this point, maybe slightly less than half. I'm not sure how yet it would be mounted to the wall, (hoping someone with more handyman skills than I might have an idea), but the plate would look like it was protruding from the wall, the knife and fork being where you hand your coats, and the plate you could place your keys, wallet, the things you grab and go with each day when you leave your house. The last one is my favourite because, in my opinion, it definitely ticks all the boxes we came up with as a class (might have to make the plate thicker for strength but of course this is a mock up), I think it's fun to look at and would function well, and that I enjoy.
